Hotel Matca — Transylvanian Sanctuary

MATCA is a boutique mountain retreat in Șimon, Bran, overlooking the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului mountains. Developed in collaboration with Hype Projects, the interiors bring together Transylvanian influences and contemporary comfort, creating a shared identity across guestrooms, private villas, dining, wellness and communal spaces.

Natural materials, tactile finishes and warm lighting connect the interiors to their surroundings. References to local craftsmanship appear throughout, from decorative details to the restaurant’s locally made, bell-inspired pendant lights. Generous glazing keeps the landscape present, allowing changing daylight and mountain views to shape the atmosphere.

Each space expresses this identity differently: the restaurant and lounge encourage gathering, the rooms and villas offer privacy and comfort, and the spa creates a quieter setting for relaxation. Together, they form a cohesive hospitality experience rooted in the character of the place.
